Kanatir Farm vineyards are planted at an altitude of 450 meters above sea level, on a flat area confined by the El-Al streambed to the south, the Samakh streambed to the north, and the steep slopes of the Golan to the west. The deep and mineral-rich soil is of volcanic origin, thanks to volcanic activity that occurred here in the past.
The six strains of grapes grown at the farm were carefully selected in accordance with the local terroir: Shiraz, Chenin Blanc, Semillon, Gewurztraminer, Petit Verdot and Grenache. Our professional staff cares for the vineyards daily with dedication and love, while constantly improving and striving for excellence.
The vineyards’ altitude and the area’s unique climate result in significant temperature differences between day and night. The cold winters provide the vineyards with a number of extreme cold events, sometimes even snow. The annual average rainfall is about 500mm.
